The Role
Learn and assist with all aspects of hot glass production under the guidance of experienced glass artists.
Support glassblowers during gathering, shaping, blowing, and finishing processes.
Prepare tools, molds, colors, and materials for daily production.
Assist with furnace maintenance, equipment care, and studio upkeep.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe hot shop environment.
Learn proper studio safety procedures and glass handling techniques.
Assist with demonstrations, educational programs, and public events as needed.
Participate in the creation of blown glass artwork, architectural projects, and custom commissions.
Develop technical skills while contributing to a collaborative studio team.
Qualifications
Strong interest in glassblowing, art, craftsmanship, or related trades.
Willingness to learn and receive instruction in a fast-paced studio environment.
Positive attitude, reliability, and strong work ethic.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Ability to lift materials, stand for extended periods, and work in a hot shop environment.
Must be able to lift 50lb comfortably.
Must be able to work consistently for several hours.
Ability to work safely in a hot shop environment with exposure to high temperatures.
Previous glass experience is preferred but not required.
Experience in art, fabrication, construction, manufacturing, welding, or other hands-on trades is a plus.
